IoT Touchless Lift Workshop

Description Throughout the ongoing pandemic, people have become increasingly concerned about the hygiene issues associated with public utilities. In response to this concern, the IoT Touchless Lift Workshop introduces the application of IoT and sensor technologies to provide a solution where lift passengers can effortlessly control the lift without the need for physical contact with any buttons or surfaces.
Duration
  • 2 – 3 hours
Learning Outcomes On completion of the workshop, learners are expected to be able to:
  1. Understand the application of IoT.
  2. Gain knowledge about sensor technology.
  3. Develop proficiency in micro:bit programming.
Learning Contents
  • Introduction to IoT
  • Introduction to Sensor Technology
  • Introduction to micro:bit Programming
  • Create a touchless lift control system with a motor and infrared reflective sensors

  • Laptop/PC with Windows 10 or above x 1
  • micro:bit x 2
  • Robot:bit x 2
  • Lift Model x 1
  • IR Sensor x 4
  • Dupont Wire (Female-to-Female) x12
  • Micro USB Cable x 1
